Contextual menu commands for folders

The following commands are only available in Finder's Services menu and contextual menus when all selected items are folders.

Set a folder’s modified date to that of the most recently modified item inside. Operates recursively, setting the best modified date for folders inside before setting the date for the selected folder.

This operation completely changes the meaning of a folder’s modified date. Normally a folder’s modified date is updated if something is added to or removed from the folder, or something in the folder is renamed. No information about when items are added, removed or renamed is stored anywhere in the file system and a folder’s modified date is not updated when items inside are modified. As a result of this it is not possible for File Buddy to set folder modification dates based on that information. After the operation completes the folder’s modified date will no longer be the last date the folder was modified, it will be the last time anything anywhere in it was modified. If that’s what you want, fine, but just be aware of the limitations.

Opens a File Buddy List window and populates with the contents of the selected folder.

Since bundled Mac OS X applications are folders, the all of the folder-specific commands will also be available when an application is selected.
